Craving A Menches Brothers Hamburger?
Gourmet Hamburgers - History of the Hamburger
In 1885, Frank and Charles Menches were operating a concession stand at the Erie County Agricultural Fair in Hamburg, New York. Their reputation for sausage sandwiches went before them.
When the brothers ran out of pork, Frank made the decision to use ground beef. Neither brother liked the taste of the new meat at first, but they experimented. Quickly they developed such a crowd pleaser they could barely make the patties fast enough . . . the rest is history.
The Menches tradition for quality is still the same, as if made in the turn of the 20th century factory in Akron. Only superior ingredients are used and the process remains unpretentious to keep the simple taste of quality coming though. Only the finest cuts of meat are used in the Menches Hamburger. The Menches have been serving American Hamburgers for over 100 years. Today, the menches Family is ready to continue this tradition for yet another century.
